General Characteristics of CP Titanium Grade 12

Commercially pure wrought titanium Grade 12 offers a beneficial combination of superior corrosion resistance and strength. Able to be welded, forged and cold worked – it can be machined by usual procedures.

  • Titanium balance

Heat Treatment of CP Titanium Grade 12

  • Anneal
    • 1300°F (7094°C)
    • Soak 30-120 minutes
    • Air cool
  • Stress relief by holding at 1000° to 1100°F (538° to 593°C) for 30 minutes, then air cool

Workability of CP Titanium Grade 12

  • Forge at 1650° to 1700°F (899° to 927°C)
  • Finish from 1500° to 1600°F (816° to 871°C)
  • Cold work with equipment for stainless steel
  • Explosive and diffusion bond or roll clad to clad Grade 12 to substrates
