Forged Discs And Hubs

Forged Discs and Hubs

All Metals & Forge Group manufactures high-performance forged discs and hubs for demanding industrial and heavy machinery applications. We produce these components in carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, titanium, nickel alloys, aluminum, and tool steel to meet strict mechanical and dimensional requirements.

By definition, a forged disc is a round component in which the outside diameter exceeds its length. In contrast, forged hubs resemble step shafts and may include equal or unequal steps on one or both ends, depending on the application. Because these geometries influence load transfer and rotational stability, precise forging control remains critical throughout production.

Although forged discs and hubs are shorter than round bars, they often carry substantial mass. Consequently, manufacturers rely on these components for applications requiring strength, structural integrity, and resistance to high torque or compressive forces. These parts commonly serve in power transmission systems, gear assemblies, turbines, heavy presses, and large-scale processing equipment.

Disc And Hub Maximum Diameters

Carbon, alloy and stainless steel: max diameter is 84 inches with a max length of 108 inches.
Nickel and super alloys: max diameter is 50 inches with a max length of 65 inches.
Aluminum: max diameter is 72 inches with a maximum length of 96 inches.
Titanium: max diameter is 52 inches in titanium with a max length of 65 inches.

Size Capabilities for Forged Discs and Hubs

All Metals & Forge Group produces forged discs and hubs in a wide range of sizes and alloy groups to support diverse industry requirements.

For carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel grades, we manufacture components up to 96 inches in diameter with maximum weights reaching 75,000 pounds. In nickel and superalloy materials, we produce forgings up to 50 inches in diameter and 20,000 pounds. Additionally, aluminum forged discs and hubs are available up to 80 inches in diameter with maximum weights of 15,000 pounds. Titanium forgings can reach diameters of 65 inches with weights up to 10,000 pounds.

Because each alloy family responds differently to forging forces and thermal treatment, we apply controlled processing parameters tailored to the material grade. As a result, customers receive components that meet required mechanical properties and structural integrity standards.

Performance and Application Advantages

Forged discs and hubs offer superior grain refinement compared to cast or fabricated alternatives. Therefore, they deliver improved fatigue resistance and enhanced impact strength in demanding service environments. In addition, the open die forging process allows us to control internal soundness and directional grain flow, which supports long-term performance in rotating or high-load assemblies.

Whether used in gear manufacturing, energy production, mining equipment, or industrial processing systems, our forged discs and hubs provide reliable performance where failure is not an option.
